Dual Band Conformal Antenna - 10-3005-2
Type 10-3005-1 and Type 10-3005-2 are passive conformal antennas for fast jets. The antennas offer dual IFF and S-band functions; they operate at L-band around 1030 and 1090 MHz for the IFF function and at S-band over frequencies 2200 to 2400 MHz for the ETU function. They offer omni azimuthal radiation patterns, typical of quarter-wave monopoles over a ground plane. A tough plastic radome covers the circular radiating aperture whose surface follows the profile of the aircraft skin. The elements of the antenna are encased by a metallic cavity directly below the aperture. RF connectors protrude below and are attached to the casing. An annular flange at the surface which is part of the casing allows attachment to the airframe.
