Chelton are looking for a Systems Lead Engineer
to join our projects team and work closely with the Head of Engineering Projects, Programme Manager and
Systems Design Authority. In this role you will be responsible for engineering planning and execution
activities within technically complex programmes
- Delivery of development engineering planning and execution, working closely with Systems
Design Authority
- Lead the engineering planning at the system level and provide direction at lower
levels
- Define and maintain governance structure ensuring alignment between programme and project
levels
- Work closely with Programme Manager to define and manage project scope and provide progress
updates
- Integrate project outputs; turn capabilities into outcomes
- Direct, motivate and provide leadership for the project technical leads and the broader
engineering team
- Support internal design reviews and customer meetings; prepare
documentation
- Identify, specify and manage demand for routine and specialist engineering
resource
- Maintain effective working relationships
- Identify potential problems and offer resolutions
- Ensure effective lessons learned approaches are utilised; ensuring processes are continually
updated
Skills and
Qualifications
- Proven track record in leading technical activity in complex projects
- Good understanding of Risk and Configuration Management
- Experience in technical report writing
- Excellent collaboration skills with ability to form highly effective
teams
- Natural leader with positive and proactive approach
- Strong decision maker and influencer
- Recognised technology based degree or equivalent, supported by sufficient experience to
prove application of systems engineering across the lifecycle
- Able to technically mentor and instruct engineers
- Experience in Project Management toolsets e.g. Microsoft Project
