Chelton are looking for an Integration, Test, Verification, and Acceptance Manager to be accountable for the planning and execution of test and verification activities and govern acceptance. This role requires broad knowledge and experience gained within the engineering lifecycle of Airborne Communication / Mission Systems and a Service Support solution. 

We are searching for someone with a natural aptitude for leadership with good collaboration, decision making and influencing skills who is comfortable reporting and presenting to stakeholders. 

This role will be based at our offices in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. 

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of Integration, Test, Verification, and Acceptance planning and execution into the assigned programme, working in partnership with the Programme Manager and team leads
  • Implement and manage progressive acceptance against customer requirements
  • Govern and manage progressive acceptance against internal requirements
  • Owner of customer deliverable Requirements Traceability Matrix
  • Manage and deliver contract documents (Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Specs etc.) and event deliverables
  • Plan, execute, and report, integration laboratory and ‘live’ trials activities to the satisfaction of the defined requirements and in accordance with the programme schedule
  • Govern and manage Network Certification and Qualification of the System
  • Management of verification baselines, related reviews, and their associated entry/exit criteria
  • Management of test results, success and failure management, and reports for the customer
  • Leading the creation of the Integration, Test, Verification, and Acceptance work packages, at the system/customer level, and directing process definition at lower levels
  • Ensure the Integration, Test, Verification, and Acceptance governance structure is defined and maintained, and that the structure is aligned between programme and project levels
  • Report progress to the Programme Manager and Director, along with other stakeholders both internal and external
  • Support and/or lead meetings with customers and internally, including preparation of documentation
  • Working with the Programme Manager to define and manage the scope within the budget and timescales and drive the team accordingly
  • Setting the culture for the team as requirements and delivery focused, through strong processes and procedures
  • Direct, motivate and provide leadership for the project technical leads and the broader programme team
  • Identify, specify and manage demand for routine and specialist resource and facilities
  • Integrate Test, Verification, and Acceptance evidence outputs from the projects and system level, turning them into the required outcomes for the satisfaction of stakeholder requirements
  • Identify potential problems / issues and work to resolve, escalating as appropriate
  • Support effective lessons learned approaches, ensure our processes are appropriately updated on a continuous basis

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven track record leading Integration, Test, Verification, and Acceptance activity in complex airborne, aerospace ,defence or communications projects
  • Experience of relating Integration, Test, Verification, and Acceptance to delivery and acceptance of a system
  • Experience of requirements capture, traceability and verification
  • Good understanding of complex system integration, validation, verification, qualification, acceptance in complex programmes and trials
  • Full system engineering lifecycle and the product lifecycle knowledge
  • Provide instruction and mentorship to engineers
  • Awareness of Cost and Schedule plannig
  • Proven ability to handle project change
  • Good understanding of Risk and Configuration Management
  • Experience in technical document writing
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience in an engineering or engineering related discipline/domain

It would be advantageous if you had:

  • Experience of managing flight trials
  • Knowledge of Aerospace certification processes
  • Awareness of industry best practice INCOSE, IEC 15288, IEC 24748 etc.
