That’s why we're on the look out for a Signal Processing and Algorithm Engineer to join our elite workforce. 

As a Signal Processing and Algorithm Engineer, you will help drive the introduction of new products and assist in developing a range of novel processing techniques in support of anti-jamming, direction finding, and beam-forming applications. Your role will involve a range of research, data analysis and market-driven product development activities.

You will be part of the Signal Processing Team, a close-knit team committed to regular knowledge sharing and engineering best practice. As an Engineer, you will have the opportunity to present your research & analyses at team meetings and develop your signal processing skillset through mentoring and formal training opportunities. 

You will be working in the Avionics Business Unit alongside a multi-discipline team of Engineers, in an Agile based engineering approach. In this Business Unit, you will be developing the next generation of Chelton’s cutting-edge GPS protection devices. These devices are an expanding market for Chelton and are required to meet the growing threat of intentional GPS interference, which causes severe issues for GPS reliant systems worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and development of novel algorithms.
  • Developing high-level architectures of DSP algorithms for implementation in firmware and software.
  • Developing system models to simulate signal data flow through embedded processing algorithms.
  • Designing and carrying out system level hardware testing to validate simulations and characterise system performance.
  • Conducting system level performance and optimisation studies
  • Generating technical proposals and technology roadmaps.
  • Supporting technical bids to bring new business to Chelton.

Person Specification 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in an applicable mathematical, science or engineering discipline.
  • Coding capability in MATLAB or similar modelling environments.
  • Experience in Digital Signal Processing techniques.
  • Experience in System modelling and analysis.
  • Digital architecture design of complex DSP algorithms.

It would be advantageous if you:

  • Understand adaptive processing techniques and antenna arrays.
  • Have knowledge or experience of embedded programming on generic or DSP processors.
  • Coding capability in C, C++, Python, and Simulink.
