That’s why we’re on the look out to add a Senior Software Engineer to join our team.  

As a Senior Software Engineer you are responsible for applying discipline domain expertise to the design, development and test of new and existing products. You will be part of the team working on our NATO JEWCS project, which supports the design, integration, qualification, testing and certification requirements required to provide platform ready products and services to our customers worldwide.

You will have responsibility for producing customer deliverable software, developing software design models, components, testing, documenting and reviewing and verifying the build processes.

The successful candidate will likely have the following skills and experience:

  • Proven record of designing and developing software projects to deliver successful outcomes on time and within budget
  • Wide range of experience with and knowledge of mission critical systems
  • Demonstrable experience working directly with customers
  • Solid understanding of software development life-cycles, processes and methodologies, including software configuration management
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills
  • Behavioural: self-starting, adaptable, problem solving and able to motivate others

Person Specification

  • Proficient in C/C++ (demonstrated by experience)
  • Solid understanding of Object Oriented design
  • Windows GUI application development using Visual Studio
  • Experience in software design and software life-cycle management
  • Experience of Agile development methods preferably Scrum
  • Familiarity with the product lifecycle from system requirements, architecture, design, integration, qualification, verification, through to production and support
  • Creative and innovative problem solver, self-starter who is eager to learn and develop

It would be advantageous of you had:

  • Python or another scripting language
  • Experience with working with embedded systems
  • Understanding and appreciation of Configuration Management and Quality Assurance principles
  • Experience of implementing networking solutions including knowledge of TCP networking
  • Appreciation of modern C++ programming techniques e.g. generic programming, design patterns etc...
  • Experience with Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server
  • Experience with working within a regulated background and adherence to standards
