As a Production Planner, you will be own the schedule for our Avionics or Antenna Business Units. A solid understanding of billing materials and routings to identify lead times is required, so the ideal candidate will be naturally inquisitive, having the ability to interrogate data, question and act upon it. 

This role will be based at our headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Integrate forecast, balance budget and backlog and monitor the supply plan for factory capacities
  • Produce a master production schedule to control internal production and external supply chain
  • Define and implement balanced production plans and provide analysis on orders
  • Conduct rough cut capacity planning.
  • Conduct available to promise analysis and establish scheduled ship dates on all customer orders.
  • Conduct recovery plans, support new product introductions, balance inventory and demand requirements
  • Review customer commitments and performance metrics
  • Own the master production schedule and MRP data
  • Track production to schedule to ensure meeting committed delivery dates.
  • Support efforts in job variance analysis to ensure BOM (Bill of Materials) accuracy.
  • Conduct material availability analysis for proposed schedule changes
  • Develop processes, reports and team to deliver planning vision of future state
  • Attend drawing release and Engineering Change Reviews to enable material impact assessments , stock impacts, availability dates.
  • Take a leading role in Make vs Buy decisions.

Person Specification

  • Significant experience working as a planner, scheduler, production control, or buyer within a manufacturing environment 
  • Prior master scheduling experience 
  • Ability to co-ordinate activity, make effective plans, execute, monitor and follow through
  • Understanding of MRP (Material Requirements Planning)
  • Able to work to financial and time sensitive constraints
  • Knowledge of manufacturing planning, master production scheduling, product definition, inventory control, materials requirements planning, capacity requirements
