This role will be based at our headquarters in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

As a Senior NPI Buyer, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Proven experience of working within a Supply Chain organisation. 
  • Proven experience within New Product Introduction
  • Previous experience as a buyer within a manufacturing company is an advantage.
  • A degree in business, operations, supply chain, or related field.
  • Experiencing of influencing and/or negotiating.
  • Experience of supplier relationship management.
  • Technical knowledge of Electro-mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Ability to work to financial and time-sensitive constraints.
  • CIPS certification is desirable.

As a Senior NPI Buyer, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as Purchasing Lead on key Bids and all NPI projects and programmes activity for the business
  • Managing the end-to-end supply chain for projects and programmes to ensure the best possible quality, cost, delivery and overall supplier reliability for the business
  • Designing and managing the supply chain solution to support the product design, development and manufacture of new products
  • Establishing and managing cost to the most effective solution by engaging with suppliers and establishing unit production costs (UPCs) for new designs into service and beyond.
  • Managing associated sourcing and tendering processes in accordance with project or production deliverables.
  • Generating and managing cost estimates for UPCs (Unit Production Cost) for new products at multiple stages of the product life cycle
  • Ensuring hardware deliveries are scheduled in line with project requirements and milestones
  • Monitoring and reviewing the delivery status of scheduled receipts to ensure on time delivery to project need
  • Collaborating with key suppliers to identify opportunities to improve joint operational efficiency
  • Coordinating with Operational Comodity Leads to ensure NPI solutions are cohesive with overarching procurement strategies
  • Engaging with relevant stakeholders to review and challenge engineering specifications to ensure Design for Manufacture
  • Undertaking supplier negotiations to ensure appropriate and cost effective solutions are achieved
  • Representing the Procurement function at Design and Project reviews
  • Ensuring Quality requirements are fulfilled at all stages of projects as required
  • Deploying responsible supply chain management practices in accordance with Company policy
  • Significantly contribute to the on-going capability, development and performance of the Procurement function
  • Delivering cost savings to the business, identifying and delivering best value solutions
